Coffey’s international development team in Europe welcomes its new Managing Director, Ben Ward. Ben has returned to the United Kingdom from Australia, where he launched the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation practice and was then appointed General Manager for Asia Pacific.
As General Manager, he led a team of 80 permanent staff and over 500 project employees who were implementing some of the Australian Government’s most complex development programs.
Tetra Tech’s President for International Development Services, Jan Auman, who oversees all of the company’s international development businesses, welcomed Ben’s appointment.
“Ben has proven himself to be a very capable leader,” Jan said.
“Additionally, Ben is highly respected for his technical skills. This fits perfectly with our company’s commitment to technical excellence.”
“He assumes the Managing Director role right after having led the team in Australia. This makes him particularly well placed for building greater links between Tetra Tech’s offices around the globe and ensuring we draw on each other’s knowledge and experience.”
Prior to heading to Australia, Ben was leading Coffey’s European Evaluation and Research practice, which he grew from fewer than 10 staff to 25. While managing the team he undertook more than 40 evaluation and research assignments across Europe, Asia and Africa.
Ben takes over at Coffey Europe only six months after it was acquired by Tetra Tech.
“I am thoroughly looking forward to working with our team in Europe, as well as with our clients and partners there,” Ben said.
“I want to build a business that can always be counted on to deliver the best results. We have the people and processes to make that happen. And with our newfound access to Tetra Tech’s expertise, this is the perfect time to identify ways in which we can improve even further.”
