Coffey’s New Zealand offices participated in today's International ShakeOut Day of Action, an event raising awareness of earthquake safety.
ShakeOut is an annual event, with more than 10 million participants worldwide. In NZ this was marked with a ‘Drop, Cover and Hold’ earthquake drill – focusing on actions to take during an earthquake.
New Zealand General Manager South Island Paul Haggath said that our involvement with the Christchurch rebuild has strengthened our commitment to this campaign.
“The safety of our people and projects is our first priority – and being involved in this event is part of that commitment,” Paul said.
“As we continue to assist in the urban renewal of New Zealand’s cities, we’re dedicated to capturing the lessons learned from the Canterbury earthquake sequence so we’re better prepared for the future.”
New Zealand employees participated in the NZ ShakeOut ‘Drop, Cover and Hold’ drill at 9.15am local time.
