I’m a Principal specialising in geotechnical, pavement engineering and road crash investigations. I have 45 years of professional engineering experience in the transport industry.

During the maintenance phase of the Millstream Link Alliance I was an Alliance Board member. Prior to joining Coffey I worked with Main Roads Western Australia for about 20 years where I progressed to become head of the Materials Engineering Branch. I have Bachelor of Engineering from University of Western Australia and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, Indiana

I’ve worked across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia. My forensic and expert witness work has included retaining wall failures, road pavement, earthworks compaction issues, earthworks bulking factors, excavation of rock, earth dams, cracked houses and road crash sites. I’ve brought the discipline of detailed site investigation and observation from geotechnical engineering to my work in forensic engineering. My work in road crash studies has brought recognition of the need to make the presentation of data and its interpretation easily understood by the Court. I’ve appeared in Court as an Independent Expert in several cases. I understand the need for meticulous preparation, independence and objectivity – making clear distinctions between facts, opinions and speculation.

Over my 25 years at Coffey I’ve been privileged to work with some of the best in the business. I have seen significant advances in the way geotechnical engineering has developed and been proud to be part of a team that has advanced the state of the art. It has been especially rewarding being able to apply these advances when supporting our clients on their projects.
