Halon Decanting

Overview

Decanting is the term used to describe the process of halon recovery (from the cylinder), filtration and reclamation.

The bulk decanting undertaken by DASCEM at the Australian National Halon Bank is the largest single decanting project undertaken in the world.

DASCEM staff involved in decanting operations all hold current Extinguishing Agent Handling Licences: a requirement of the Australian Ozone Protection Regulations.
