Refrigerant Mixtures - CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs

Over the last fifteen years, DASCEM has worked closely with the Federal Government and the refrigeration industry in Australia and New Zealand to collect, recover and destroy un-reprocessable refrigerant mixtures. These include cocktails of CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs.

Using a unique recovery system, DASCEM has successfully and safely recovered and destroyed over 1000 tonnes of mixed refrigerants at the Australian National Halon Bank.

DASCEM has the ability to recover refrigerants ranging from the smallest 10kg cylinder to bulk storage tanks up to 60,000 litres.

Our system is extremely efficient in removing heavy oil and particulate matter entrained in refrigerant mixtures and is capable of dealing with a wide range of rapid and slow-boiling refrigerants.

To ensure that refrigerant mixtures are fully recovered from vessels and thereby reduce the likelihood of residual refrigerant potentially escaping to the atmosphere, DASCEM ensures all vessels are pumped down to negative pressure (vacuum).

The refrigerant mixtures are then destroyed using PLASCON™.
