The environmental design services and management team have extensive experience in legionella management and has undertaken major risk assessment programs for public sector agencies and corporate property portfolios.
We provide expert advice on the options for remedial works to mitigate legionella risk from both a technical and operational perspective. Coffey Environments specialist expertise in this field is illustrated by our prior involvement as expert members of industry bodies established to deal with the management of cooling tower / legionella risk:
- Victorian Department of Human Services – Member of the Consultative Committee on Legionella
- Victorian Building Control Commission Cooling Tower Advisory Group (to the Victoria Minister for Health) Member.
Capabilities:
- development / audit of risk management plans, ensuring compliance with Building (Legionella) Act 2000 and Building Regulations of 2001
- design rectification works – to address the recommendations made to eliminate or reduce the risk of legionella identified in risk management plan
- project management – modifications and replacement systems
- technical advice / expert witness – feasibility studies of cooling tower useful life, air cooled verses water cooled systems, management of critical risks, including stagnant water, nutrient growth, poor water quality, deficiencies in cooling towers systems and locations and access to site.
