Surface Wave Technique for shear waves
A new method for rapid determination of S-wave velocities without a borehole has been developed using Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW). This complements Coffey Geotechnics' capability in this area using Vertical Seismic Shear Wave Profiling (VSSP).
MASW makes use of standard impact seismic sources (eg sledgehammers) and does not require the use of explosive sources. It is used in areas of high vibrational noise.
Digital data acquisition system for marine civil infrastructure
Coffey Geotechnics operates a variety of marine geophysical equipment including seismic, bathymetric and magnetometer systems. We have an integrated solution for streamlined data acquisition and processing for any combination of these instruments, including facilities for navigation and positioning. This system further enhances the services we can offer the marine civil infrastructure markets (ports and harbours, river crossings etc).
