Water is a precious and increasingly finite resource. It is central to life and clean water is critical to our quality of life. More than one billion people lack access to safe, clean drinking water.
Water of sufficient quantity and quality sustains a nation’s health, environment and economy. It is crucial in fighting disease, hunger and poverty. Water use is a base requirement for agriculture, industry and economic development, and has the potential to be a cause of conflict between communities and states as its value increases while access to water sources decrease.
