Industry veteran breaking new ground

According to Coffey Mining CEO Dan O’Toole, Mr Yeates had over 20 years experience in the international mining industry and would bring a wealth of knowledge to his new roles.

“Rick has made an incredibly valuable contribution to Coffey Mining since he joined the company as General Manager Strategy in the 2006 merger with RSG Global,” Mr O’Toole said.

“Coffey Mining’s merger with RSG Global achieved many of the then strategic goals of the company, in terms of expanding its service offerings and geographical presence, particularly into Africa. Rick will now be taking operations to a new level as he tackles the business development portfolio.”

Mr Yeates will also be serving as Director, Western Australia, on the board of Austmine – an industry sponsored organisation, affiliated with Austrade. Austmine promotes and supports businesses that export Australian mining technical services (MTS) to the international minerals industry.

Mr Yeates said Coffey Mining (previously operating as RSG Global) had a 13-year successful record in exporting mining technical services and had been an active corporate member of Austmine during this time. He added he was looking forward to the new challenge of serving as Director, WA.

“It’s great to be invited to serve in this honorary position and to see the recognition of Coffey Mining’s performance over the years,” he said.

“This is a further opportunity to contribute towards growing Australia’s MTS exports, which already represent a significant and expanding sector of the Australian economy.”

Rick Yeates will take up his new positions immediately.
