(5 March 2007) An innovative property development project that will improve living and working environments will be launched in Adelaide, South Australia.

Coffey International Limited as anchor tenant in partnership with Axiom Properties as developer, has chosen Keswick in Adelaide for its pioneering business precinct development, Coffey Worldpark.

Coffey Worldpark is a visionary environmentally sustainable development that will spearhead best practice in energy, the environment and working/living concepts. It will be sympathetic to the environment and pay heed to the concept of sustainability by addressing water and energy use, carbon emissions and recycling.

Coffey International Limited executive director Glen Simpson said, “Coffey Worldpark will be environment friendly, people friendly, nature friendly and space friendly.”

Coffey Worldpark is designed to facilitate and encourage interaction, innovation and communication between individuals and across companies.

“It will not only offer an environment for critical, imaginative and creative thinking, but it will also provide support services and lifestyle that promote excellence in professional behaviour,” Glen said.

The professional precinct will cover more than three hectares and focus on engineering, resource companies, defence-related companies and related laboratories and research facilities.

Coffey Worldpark will accommodate Coffey’s expanding professional teams in Adelaide. It will become the South Australian home of Coffey companies including Coffey Getotechnics, Coffey Environments, Coffey International Development, Coffey Mining, Coffey Training, Clifton Coney Group, Carson Group and Enesar.

In addition, the facility is expected to accommodate co-tenants, ancillary services and lifestyle providers.

“We are looking to attract and encourage other companies that we work with and relate to, to consider co-location and this new way of interacting and doing business,” said Glen.

In order to provide a world-class professional-communal environment, Coffey Worldpark will feature the following building and technology options:

  • professional office accommodation in an ‘innovative and green’ building
  • learning and world knowledge centre
  • extensive social and communal space
  • laboratories, R&D and storage areas
  • personal space
  • parking spaces and a transport hub.

Axiom Properties has opened an office in Adelaide for this and other developments it has planned. The leading Australian property development company recently paid $66m for a major Melbourne CBD site in a joint venture with the Industry Superannuation Property Trust.

Coffey Worldpark will be located on the popular and convenient CBD fringe, at 33-39 Richmond Road in Keswick, Adelaide.

Coffey Worldpark is expected to open in late 2009.
