(Sydney, Australia – 1 July 2008) Coffey International Limited (ASX:COF) today announced the appointment of Paul Mitchell, OAM, to the position of non-executive director of Coffey International Limited, effective immediately.

Coffey chairman Stephen Williams said that Paul would be an excellent addition to the board of Coffey to help steer Coffey through its next growth phase and towards the company’s 2020 goal to be a truly international consulting firm.

“Paul has a very strong track record in professional services; he was a founding partner of both Mitchell McCotter and Associates and Environmental Resources Management (ERM) Australia, two very successful consulting firms. He has excellent experience in environmental services and international development, as well as a detailed knowledge of the resources sector.”

Paul said he was really looking forward to contributing to Coffey’s international growth.

“In particular I’m looking forward to contributing my experience in servicing clients globally across a range of sectors.”

Following his time in the consulting industry, Paul was president of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) from 2003 until May this year. The ICMM is the mining industry’s peak global body and in this role he interacted with the international financial community, intergovernmental organisations (including UN agencies, World Bank and OECD) national governments and international non-government organisations (NGOs).

Prior to joining ICMM, Paul was chief executive officer of CARE Australia, a member of CARE International, the world’s largest development and emergency assistance NGO operating in over 70 of the world’s poorest countries. CARE Australia operated in 21 countries and employed more than 1000 people.

Paul was educated in Australia and the USA, and has qualifications in earth and engineering sciences, regional planning and business management.

In 2004 he was admitted to the Order of Australia for services to the community, environmental resources management and planning.
