Coffey Information Service Launches in Darwin
(22 February 2011) Global professional services consultancy Coffey International Limited (“Coffey”) has launched their new information premises in the Darwin CBD. The new move recognises the high business confidence levels in Darwin and its continued growth and importance as a major Australian business centre.
Coffey Information global business development manager Matt Morley said it was an important milestone in Coffey’s lengthy history in Darwin. “The presence of Coffey Information alongside Coffey’s other specialist businesses in Darwin benefits not only existing clients but local businesses with improved access to one company that offers a comprehensive range of expertise at each stage in the project lifecycle.
“Darwin is attracting major investment; growth and mega projects with an expanding market particularly in resources and defence. To meet the demands of a growing population, the government will continue its high level of public spending on infrastructure, such as schools, roads and ports. We can see a number of opportunities to help the market grow,” he said.
Coffey Information provide specialist scientific testing solutions across the residential, infrastructure and resource sectors. They are specialists in Construction Materials Testing and ensuring development works are constructed in accordance with the specified design criteria. Coffey Information’s recent projects in Darwin include the Berrimah Business Park and the Northern Territory Lands’ Johnston Subdivision. They also provide services throughout remote Northern Territory such as on the Ranger Uranium Mine in Jabiru and Groote Eylandt.
Coffey Information global service leader Michael Renehan said: “Our new premise in Darwin means we have great local capacity and geotechnical engineering back-up. We are excited about the prospects in Darwin – we have already secured a pipeline of work in residential developments and infrastructure projects.
Pre-NATA recognition enables Coffey Information’s client to avoid delays. Coffey Information can provide all tests and reporting independently from site, with the results being NATA endorsed. In addition testing facilities can be deployed, equipped and staffed on short notice, which greatly accelerates the time it takes to conduct tests and process the results. Mr Renehan said: “We have the resources to rapidly establish a NATA accredited testing laboratory on any site and provide an accredited service to our clients virtually anywhere and at any time.”
Although Coffey has won countless awards over the years – such as Best Engineering Consulting Firm, and at the Project Management Achievement Awards – the company remains focused on benefiting communities around the world. For Coffey Information, Mr Renehan highlights what this means for the market: “we ensure that assets are built properly, and built to last. You can spend the same amount of money to build something, but if it isn’t constructed in the most appropriate way and in accordance with the design, then that presents a risk to stakeholders. In construction, the greatest benefit Coffey Information can provide to our clients is quality and assurance. That’s where we provide real value.”
