A cost effective exploration campaign at a remote site requires experienced drilling services, technical field support and reliable logistics.
Our African team can communicate in English or French-speaking environments and has a strong knowledge of the regulatory environment overseeing the region’s mining sector.
Coffey has operated in Africa for more than 20 years, providing both local experience and on-the-ground resources. Our nine Scout 1750 auger rigs based in Ghana can be very quickly mobilised and sent into difficult terrain. These rigs provide a cost-effective first-stage exploration technique. A small crew operate the rigs which are vehicle mounted and tailored to work in local conditions. The regolith in the area is relatively soft, meaning early-stage auger drilling, followed up by geochemical or geophysical anomalies, is an effective way to sample the weathered horizon that sits above a potential ore body.
